Chris Lloyd Season Highlights

April 24, 2017

Welsh Alpine racer, Chris Lloyd, was injured in an accident in September 2011 and was told that he would never ski again due to a spinal cord injury. This made him determined to prove his doctors wrong and now he regularly represents Wales on the world stage.

Chris’s aims for this year were to consolidate his training and race experience with a view to making qualification standards for the Paralympics in PyongChang.

Unfortunately, having suffered an early season knee injury this was going to be a difficult challenge, however Chris pulled out all the stops at the World Cup event in Innerkems, Austria and finished in 9th place overall, making the qualification standards. There’s a long way to go to the events and final selections for PyongChang, but Chris has put himself in a very strong position. His plans for this summer are to regain his full knee strength, recover and prepare himself well for early season 2017/18 competitions.

Good luck Chris, we know you can do it!
