Meet Our New SSW Ambassadors

July 25, 2017

As you may know we've been looking for Snowsport Wales Ambassadors to promote SSW activities at a local level and help to generate and improve Social Media communications/stories. In mid-June we put out a job description and have gone through all the applications and are very happy to announce our chosen ambassadors! We're also seeking additional appointments from ambassadors who can help represent snowboard & freestyle. If you're interested, read the job description (link above) and contact us with your application!

Do you have what is takes to be a.png

Here are our ambassadors...

Aiden Jones

I am 18 years old and currently on a gap year following the completion of my A Levels at Ysgol Bro Myrddin, Carmarthenshire. I am a member of the West Wales and Cardiff Ski Clubs where I train regularly. I have skied since the age of five but only started racing four years ago. I am a member of the Welsh Alpine Race Squad, competing on the UK dry slope circuit. I start as a seasonnaire in France later this year and am passionate about all things snow sports.

Cyffin Thomas

Cyffin Thomas is a 16 year old ski racer who now works as a ski instructor and coach for the Urdd at Llangrannog dry ski slope. Through the Welsh language, he is part of giving thousands of children their first taste of skiing and he coaches Aberystwyth University’s ski race team.

Joe Constantine

I’m Joe Constantine, 17 years old, from North Wales. I’m a member of the Welsh Ski Squad and currently studying for my A Levels. I started skiing aged four and got involved in ski racing through school races. My other interests include ski instructing, cricket and all aspects of personal fitness and training.

Georgia Hyett

I started using a dry slope after coming back from my first skiing holiday with my family when I was four. Dry slope means a lot to me because it is where I grew into loving the sport. I have met some of my best friends on dry slopes all over the country. I currently train once a week with the race club and work most weekends where I am also now involved as a coach and instructor. I really enjoy the sport and  relish the opportunity to encourage others to get involved and experience the fun and challenging aspects of it.

Georgia Furlong

I’m really looking forward to taking on the Ambassador role with Snowsport Wales and hope to focus on getting lots of video, photos and local news stories on the social media platforms, telling people what a great sport we have. I’ve had a great experience getting involved with ski racing and instructing and have made some great friends. I want to help others feel the same way.
