The long term future of the slope will be determined as part of the review of future investment at Plas y Brenin, but all parties have agreed that the operation can continue until at least March 2017.
Dave Cheetham, Marketing Manager at Plas y Brenin commented: “It’s very exciting to have the slope open during this period of review. The Mountain Training Trust will continue to work closely with North Wales Snowsports Club during the forthcoming season."
When asked about the continued opening of the slope, Jayne Wainwright, Chair of North Wales Snowsport Club said: “North Wales Snowsports Club are delighted that the ski slope will be open for another year – it is a superb teaching and learning facility and, although short, it’s a great place for competitions and races and it is absolutely ideal for slopestyle. We are aware that the future of the slope remains uncertain and that a decision will be made in due course. However we are looking forward to working with the Mountain Training Trust to continue to offer the opportunity to develop snowsports in what is a much loved community sports facility.”
Plas y Brenin’s ski slope is open 1pm – 9pm on weekdays and 10.30am – 6.00pm throughout the weekend. It has a variety of sessions on offer ranging from beginner classes right up to slalom racing evenings and instructor training. For more details please visit: www.pyb.co.uk/ski
